College Curriculum

Newbridge College provides a very broad and diverse curriculum which aims to meet the individual needs and aptitudes of all our students, thus ensuring that each student can strive to achieve to his/her maximum potential.syllabi.gif

In the Junior Cycle, all students sit the Junior Cycle state examination after three years of study.  After the Junior Cycle students have the option of doing a Transition Year or going straight on to spend two years studying for the Leaving Certificate state examination.  Students may also opt to participate in the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme alongside the traditional Leaving Certificate.

Generally, classes are not streamed. In first year, classes are mixed ability in all subjects.  In second and third year, classes are streamed in Mathematics and Irish only.  In Senior Cycle all non core subjects are taught in a mixed ability setting.
