Newbridge College was honoured to host acclaimed Irish author Claire Keegan, whose novel Small Things Like These is a key text for our 6th year students studying for the Leaving Certificate English course.
During her visit, Claire shared insights into her writing process and the inspiration behind Small Things Like These, a novella set in 1985 that explores themes of morality and social injustice in rural Ireland.
The students engaged in a lively discussion, delving into the novel's characters and its portrayal of the complexities of human relationships.
This visit provided a unique opportunity for our students to connect directly with the author, deepening their understanding of the text and enriching their academic experience.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Claire Keegan for her time and for sharing her expertise with our students.
