TOP STORY Our Seniors are looking forward to their Leinster Senior
Cup semi final on Tuesday when all eyes will be on Donnybrook!
Everyone is looking forward to it and best of luck to all of the coaches
and players involved.
RUGBY Inters v Blackrock College We travelled to Blackrock College for 3 games on Wednesday in what was an eagerly awaited test. We had the perfect start when Eoghan Hearne scored from close range, Mark Travers added the extras. Blackrock piled on the pressure and on 15mins, scored a seven pointer of their own. They were right back on our line when a bizarre moment occurred. We attempted a clearance kick and the ball was blocked down, right into Jack Garvey’s hands in his own try zone but in space. And take the space he did running the full length of the pitch for a great score. Travers added 2 for 14:7. With the half almost over a great break by Mark Travers was finished off by Eoin McGroary, 21:7 and what looked like a commanding halftime lead. However, a mistake from the restart let Rock in for a cheap score so it was all to play for in the second half. Half Time 21:12
The second half was a cagier affair with defences more on top. When Conor Quinn crossed for our 4th try, it looked as though the game was over. Nobody told Blackrock… 10 minutes and 2 tries later the scores were tied all square with 4 to play. We started playing some lovely rugby with ball in hand and with a last gasp try in the corner, scored by James McCarney saw us take the win. We turnover a scrum, broke through midfield and then spun the ball to the wing McCarney who finished off the try of the game. Apart from those already mentioned, others to impress were Culainn Dunleavy, Max Rainbow and Charlie O’Shaughnessy.
Newbridge Inter Cs lost a hard fought match against a much bigger Blackrock side on Wednesday last. Newbridge started superbly when James Morrin intercepted to run 60 metres and score the opening try. Unfortunately Blackrock replied immediately and continued to pressure Newbridge for the remainder of the half, leading 29-10 at half time. Newbridge started brightly in the second half with some excellent scores coming from Finn Majury and Ben McGarry. Unfortunately Blackrock's strength in depth came to the surface and they ran out 62-29 winners on the day. Well done to Alex Kennedy, Ben McGarry, James Morrin and player of the match James Kelly. Ellers v C.U.S. The Eller Cs got the better of CUS in an open game on Wednesday last. Both teams were happy to move the ball into space and some excellent long range tries were scored by both teams. Zack Bolger and Noah Farrell were particularly prominent for the hosts who ran out winners on a scoreline of 37 - 22

HOCKEY First year 3rd team 0 The High School 3 Real learning curve for this bunch. Well second best first half but a remarkable turn around in the second and should have scored a few goals themselves. Energetic bunch that certainly enjoy the away trips!
